On October 13, 1977, in New York, Imelda Marcos spent $384,000, buying a platinum bracelet with rubies for $50,000; a diamond bracelet for $50,000; and a pin set with diamonds for $58,000, among others.

 

 

On November 2, 1977, she spent $450,000 for a gold necklace and bracelet with emeralds, rubies, and diamonds; and $300,000 for a gold pendant with diamonds, rubies, and 39 emeralds.

 

 

In July 1978, shewent to New York again and splurged on jewelry, spending $2,181,000 in a day. Among her purchases were a platinum and emerald bracelet with diamonds from Bulgari for $1,150,000; a necklace with a ruby, diamonds, and emeralds for $330,000; a ring with heart-shaped emeralds for $300,000; and a pendant with canary diamonds, rubies, and emeralds for $300,000.

 

 

On August 25, 1981, Imelda spent $1.1 million for a heart-shaped necklace with pearls and matching earrings; $130,000 for a necklace and matching earrings with rubies and diamonds; $255,000 , for a necklace of Egyptian coral and onyx. Two days later, she blew $610,640 on antiques – a rare mahogany China cabinet for $100,000 an 18th-century red lacquer grandfather clock for $12,000 and an 18th century English cut glass six-light chandelier for $33,000, among others.
